Where is my appointment?

Appointments are available at our Therapy Centre at Jersey Cheshire Home, or from the comfort of your own home with our Community Therapy Team.

We start by finding out exactly what you need and what you’d like to achieve. Your plan might include exercises to build strength, stretches to ease tightness, balance training, tips on using walking aids, posture and walking re-training, hands-on techniques, FES (a gentle electrical stimulation to help muscles work), and simple exercises you can do at home.

If everyday things like getting dressed, washing, cooking, getting in and out of bed, or moving safely around your home have become tricky, an OT can help. They’ll work with you to make life easier, safer, and help you feel more confident doing daily activities.

Physiotherapy focuses on improving movement, strength, and mobility. Occupational therapy focuses on helping you manage your day-to-day life. This might mean finding easier ways to do things, suggesting gadgets or equipment, or adapting your home to suit your needs. Both aim to keep you as independent as possible, just in slightly different ways.

We’ll visit you at home for about an hour. We’ll chat about your concerns, assess how you move and manage different activities at home and talk about what you’d like to work towards. By the end, you’ll have a clear idea of your next steps.

Yes! We can see you in the comfort of your own home so you don’t have to travel.

No referral is needed. If we do need to contact your GP or consultant, we’ll ask your permission first. If you have health insurance, check if they need a referral for your claim.

No, you can book an appointment to see us privately without being insured. If you do have insurance, it might help with the costs depending on your policy.

Just call us on +44 7829 711207, send us an email, or fill in our online contact form. We’ll get back to you to arrange a time that works for you.

We send invoices at the end of each month for the sessions you’ve had. You can pay by bank transfer (BACS is easiest) or by cheque should you prefer.

It’s different for everyone. At your first assessment, we’ll chat about your goals and create a plan that works for you, whether that’s a few sessions or ongoing support.
