With over 20 years of experience in healthcare and rehabilitation, Derya brings both compassionate expertise and calm professionalism to the therapy department.

She holds a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification and has completed training in aqua therapy, equipping her with a strong foundation to support our therapeutic, water-based services. Most recently, Derya completed an Ai Chi course, an aquatic therapy technique blending the principles of Tai Chi and Qigong through slow, mindful movements and diaphragmatic breathing, that is designed to promote balance, mobility, relaxation, and strengthening in water. She now leads two Ai Chi groups, where patients benefit from her gentle guidance and serene presence.

As a Rehabilitation Assistant, Derya supports the physiotherapists and occupational therapists in implementing bespoke treatment plans, assisting clients both individually and within groups. Her calm demeanour, patience, and empathetic communication are especially effective in building rapport and motivating clients throughout their recovery and rehabilitation.

Outside of her professional life, Derya maintains an active lifestyle and finds joy in spending time with her two children. Her long-standing dedication to rehabilitation, combined with her warm, family-oriented approach, makes her a trusted and reassuring presence.
